Durst is a world-leading manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, headquartered in Brixen, South Tyrol, Italy. Our core business is digital inkjet printing and the related ecosystem of inks, software and services.

Our laboratory teams are responsible for the heart of every printer and, as such, look after the complete printing system with printheads, inks/fluids and their supply circuits for various applications. As a lab technician, you will test and optimize printing technologies, processes and materials, perform tests and analyses, and define process and print-related parameters for the integration and operation of printheads and fluids in our devices/systems for industrial digital inkjet printing.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate/support in each phase of the innovation process and advise on definition/improvement of printing systems to ensure print quality/stability, etc.
  • Plan, execute/support and evaluate testing and optimization of print technologies, processes and materials for integration and operation of printheads and fluids in relation to the associated print system.
  • Testing and analysis of new technologies, printheads, fluids and printing materials, conducting various series of tests and documentation.
  • Technical support of laboratory projects or sub-projects from the development and quality assurance departments concerning the printhead/fluid systems.
  • Collaboration/support in the evalutation of new printheads, fluids and printing systems.
  • Evaluation and definition of printing parameters (waveform, hydraulic parameters, printing performance, printing materials)

Profile:

  • University degree (Master, PhD) preferably in physics, technical physics, physical engineering or industrial engineering.
  • Knowledge/experience in printing technologies, printheads, rheophysics, interfacial science, rheology, digital printing systems, fluidics would be desirable.
  • General knowledge of chemistry, mathematics and basic technical knowledge.
  • "Hands-on mentality" and enjoyment of practical work, ideally already with practical experience in experimental approaches.
  • Advanced Word and Excel skills (creating formulas, evaluations, interpolations, VBA...).
  • Languages German, Italian, English
